ZENZ Organic is a certified organic hair and skincare brand founded in Denmark. The products are formulated without a range of unwanted and potentially harmful ingredients, and many are allergy-certified, making them suitable for sensitive skin.
The story of ZENZ Organic began with the personal experience of hairdresser Anne-Sophie Skjødt Villumsen. While training to become a hairdresser, she developed an allergy to ingredients commonly used in traditional hair products. As there were few healthier alternatives that also delivered effective results, she decided to create them herself.
In 1999, Anne-Sophie opened her first hair salon in Copenhagen, with a vision of creating a working environment where there was no need to compromise between beauty, quality and health. In 2000, ZENZ Organic was born. Since then, the brand has received numerous awards and has become highly valued by both professionals and consumers across Scandinavia.
ZENZ’s philosophy is centred on effectiveness, carefully selected ingredients, human health and reduced environmental impact. The products are developed for both professional use in salons and everyday care at home.
ZENZ Organic works with scientists, doctors and certification organisations in the development of its products. Made in Denmark, the products carry the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, one of the most demanding environmental certifications in the Nordic countries.
Anne-Sophie Skjødt Villumsen remains actively involved in the brand to this day, continuing to work as a hairdresser and contributing to product development. Her hands-on experience in the salon industry remains at the heart of ZENZ Organic – creating professional haircare while placing greater emphasis on human health and the environment.
